    Chennai

It is formerly known as Madras is the capital and largest city of Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India. It is located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. Pondy Bazaar, officially known as Soundarapandian Angadi, has a rich history that dates to the preindependence era. It was established as a shopping district in the expanding city of Chennai. Over the years, Pondy Bazaar has evolved into a vibrant and prestigious market, attracting shoppers from across the city. In the great market of Pondy Bazar, Theagaraya Road, one of the most important commercial streets of the city centre, has recently been transformed with a major project of the Chennai Smart City/Greater Chennai Corporation, revolutionising its traffic and reducing gas emissions. Much of the street has become a pedestrian precinct, dedicated to shopping. Architectural barriers have been removed to favour the movement of the elderly and disabled, while urban décor has provided seats and children’s games. For the street furnishing and illumination, Neri lamp posts from the Mizar system and Light 106 have been chosen, with LED Lights at a colour temperature of 4,000 Kelvin.
